Interviewed by WEKU

Had a random encounter with an NPR reporter from WEKU on the elevator ride up to the 16th Floor (Political Science Ground Zero) today which ended up becoming an interview for a news segment this afternoon. He was looking for another faculty member to interview about the annual Fancy Farm picnic coming up, but ended up talking to me about web 2.0 technologies and activism and elections in Kentucky.

Lesson? Always be prepared  with the “elevator pitch” on what you are doing. It can lead to great opportunities.

Other lesson: I’d forgotten how much fun radio interviews can be. Hadn’t done one since I was Research Director at the Appalachian Center, but now I think i might like to do more of it. My wife tells me i have a great face for radio. 🙂
